Tucked away in a corner of Suntec City is the showroom for 5:5, a Korean multi-label online concept store carrying clothing, accessories and lifestyle products. Fashionistas rejoice, for you have found the ultimate destination for the best of hallyu fashion.
Be careful not to confuse it as a pop-up store! 5:5’s showroom has been open for business since February 2017 and it is here to stay.
My jaw dropped in awe the moment I saw the decor of the showroom in all of its minimalist glory. The first thing that will jump out at you is likely to be the white frontage that resembles that of a construction site.
Instead of paying for an air ticket to fly to Korea just to get your hands on the latest fashion staples, you can use 5:5’s nifty online platform. They deliver your purchases straight from the independent labels in Korea right to your doorstep.
Focused on fast fashion, 5:5 carries 120 clothing brands and is constantly updating itself with the latest trends. The showroom is for you to try on the clothing to check the fitting and design. As everybody typically buys from the website, everything in the showroom is of limited stock.
5:5 is currently showcasing the Spatial Odyssey Series_01, which is neatly divided into five different concepts, each one more glorious than the last. 5:5’s holistic approach to interior store design and visual merchandising is evident from how its concepts are inspired by not just Korean but also international fashion trends.
Be at the front of the stylish pack when you shop the new arrivals slated every 25th of the month. To maintain exclusivity, selected items from each label will be available in limited quantities. Every thing you find will not be there next month, so don’t hesitate for too long!
To stay current, concepts will change and the showroom will be revamped accordingly every six months. Don’t miss the chance to take a look at the first five concepts conceived by 5:5.
The decor in this section has bold primary colours precisely because of the graphical clothing featured. Get your grunge on and find your favourite Korean street brands as well as oversized tees and long sleeved shirts that are perfect for layering.
The timelessness of classic simplicity is unquestioned and the decor is impeccable. The white cage gets my minimalist-loving heart singing. The racks are also filled with clothing that are suitable for everyone because nobody can go wrong with basics, right?
Though this area was intended to be a dark room, inspiration struck the founders who were having fun with lighting and neon and this trippy setup was born. The clothes found in this section conveys an attitude and it may be just what you’re looking for to spice up your wardrobe.
Millenial Pink is all the rage now and a whole concept has been dedicated to it. The style is feminine and easy on the eyes. As the colour of the year changes, the store will change the colour too so you can look forward to the what’s to come.
The visual representation of this concept is literally what my dreams are made of. With holographic films draped across the room from the ceiling to the ground, you can experience the fluidity of the section, which serves as a transition between the different zones.
5:5 brings its experiential approach to retail to the next level by inviting celebrity guests from Korea every month. Collaborations with brand designers, makeup artists and hair stylists are also in the works.
So make 5:5 your go-to online retail haven for modern Korean style and drop by the showroom to take part in an unrivalled customer experience. With the concepts coming to life in each zone, 5:5 is indeed a win-win for brands and consumers alike.
