I love fried chicken and bubble tea. PERIODT.

Some days we really just have no idea what we can do or where to go in Singapore, and this might be especially hard for couples looking for fun activities to do together. I’m sure there are couples out there that want to try something new but aren’t even sure what to do. Luckily for you lovebirds, I’ve compiled a list of couple activity ideas that are great interactive fun for pairs in Singapore. This is ironic coming from me, since I’m single af, but oh well at least this will give you some options! 1. Create Art At Splat…

My mum is Filipino, so I definitely am no stranger to Lucky Plaza. Entering Lucky Plaza is like stepping into a Filipino community and I daresay there are more Filipinos than Singaporeans in this particular shopping mall along Orchard road. I have been to Lucky Plaza so many times I can’t even count so it’s shocking to me, that some locals have never been there. As unassuming as it looks from the outside, Lucky Plaza has more than just Jollibee fried chicken (which might be the only reason Singaporeans head there). While Golden Mile is a haven for Thai food,…

Hmlet started when its founders, Zenos and Yoan started to open their homes to others. After seeing how this shared living experience made their lives more enriching, the idea of Hmlet was born. Currently, the company offers co-living spaces in Singapore, Sydney, Tokyo, and Hong Kong. Hmlet Cantonment is the company’s newest and biggest co-living space situated in Singapore’s CBD area. I was fortunate enough to be invited for a weekend staycation and got to have a first-hand look at the experience of a co-living home. More About Hmlet Cantonment Hmlet Cantonment is made up of two blocks, with a…

Living in a typical HDB flat in Singapore, I’ve always heard my neighbours playing mahjong at night, and they seemed to have so much fun playing it. Hearing them mixing the clacking tiles around and getting so amped up was so entertaining. I always wondered how to play mahjong but unfortunately I just never got the chance since I wasn’t Chinese and it’s not typically part of our culture to do so. My colleague then told me about an Airbnb experience that actually teaches people how to mahjong. So I thought, why not? Playing Mahjong Via Airbnb Experience This Airbnb…

This first-of-its-kind Taobao physical store is located right at the end of basement two of Funan. I emphasise on this because I didn’t notice the store at first because of its corner location. This 6000 square feet shop features over 300 Taobao products to choose from with the same flash sale and discounts as the virtual marketplace, but with the added option of touching and experience items before purchasing. Shoppers can browse through furniture and household items like cookware and decorative pieces and have fewer chances of receiving an order that wasn’t up to standards—it’s kind of a gamble ordering…

Correct me if I’m wrong, but streetwear has always been on trend. Thanks to this, global brands like Champion and FILA have been more in demand. I mean these two apparel giants have been in style for decades! When I came across PREP Luxe Salon and their new egg mint hair mask treatment, I was intrigued. What is so special about this egg mask? How is it different from the generic homemade hair masks we find online? My hair is thick, wavy, and super high maintenance. I’ve tried pretty much every home remedy to help make my hair more manageable and smooth. One of the homemade masks I’ve tried is egg masks. I followed the instructions to the T and no matter how many times I tried out this mask, it just never had the desired result. At…

Urth & Phire is a local pottery studio that was founded by Singaporean ceramic artist, Alvin Leow, who has a Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Arts (Distinction). The studio specializes in pottery and offers classes to the general public. Interestingly, the studio name is pronounced as ‘earth and fire’, which invokes a curiosity beyond a superficial understanding. Located near Tai Seng, the minimalistic Urth and Phire studio is, unsurprisingly, decked out with shelves of pottery works-in-progress. Before we started, our instructor Alvin showed us the different stages the clay will go through from preparing the clay to moulding it. Each person…

Remember that scene in Princess Diaries when Mia and her mom threw darts at paint-filled balloons to make art? Splat Paint House offers customers something relatively similar, with their fun-filled art packages that allow you to go crazy with paint creatively. The concept hosts “splatter sessions” by splattering paint or even shooting paint-filled water guns to create vibrant, one-of-a-kind art. We had to try it out. Splat Paint House’s current pop-up studio is located at MOX. Upon entering, you’ll be greeted by the studio’s walls and floors splattered in bright, colourful paint. We each opted for the starter package (S$39),…

My first pony ride at the Singapore Zoo was when I was five or six years old. To be honest, that was the only reason I kept going back to the zoo. Sadly, three zoo visits later, I got too big for the ponies, and just as quickly as the love affair started, it ended. I think it’s safe to say we were all sad when we outgrew the pony rides at the Singapore Zoo. I for one absolutely loved horses from the day my parents brought me for my first pony ride. Since then, I’ve always wanted to join…

Located near Sentosa’s Beach Station, Wave House offers water activities unlike anywhere else in Singapore—perfect for days when the heat is just too much to bear. I and my colleague were here with one mission: to try out Wave House’s Double Flowrider. I’m sure you’ve seen photos and videos of people on the Double Flowrider at Sentosa. Endlessly fun to ride, this artificial wavemaker creates a safe, non-curling, endless sheet of water flowing over a composite vinyl surface. Like wakeboarding or actual surfing, riders can carve up and down the water and even perform tricks. The Double Flowrider The Double…

I always think, “Is it even possible to have fun during a workout? Is it possible to actually enjoy exercising?” To find out if exercising doesn’t always have to equal suffering, I signed up for six out of the 10 workout classes in this list. I don’t know about you, but whenever I’ve tried going to the gym, I’ve just felt anxious being surrounded by muscular, physically fit people who know what they were doing. Meanwhile, I’m there just trying to figure out how to use the gym machines without drawing too much attention to myself. And I hate running. Absolutely…
