In anticipation of Disney: Pixar’s Toy Story 4 which is out in cinemas on 20 June 2019, Singapore’s Gardens by the Bay is going to undergo a similar child-like transformation.
In conjunction with Children’s Festival, the Supertree Grove will be host to a colourful Toy Story 4 carnival filled with family-friendly games and activities, inspired by Buzz, Woody and the gang in an all-new Toy Story adventure. And the best part? Admission is free of charge.
Some of the games you can expect at the carnival will be Star Adventurer, where children can race in self-driving cars in order to recharge Buzz Lightyear; and Bo Peep’s Adventure, a fun obstacle course for the young ones to test their speed, agility, and endurance. There will also be carnival game booths featuring characters Woody and Jessie.
Snap a picture with characters Buzz and Woody as well while you are there, however, take note that they will only be around on 15 and 16 June.
One thing you can look forward to at the event will be the first-ever Toy Story 4 themed marble run track in Singapore. Happening twice in an hour, visitors can gaze up and admire the 1.5-metre-wide marble weaving around the Supertrees along a 150-metre-long track, while soundtracks from previous Toy Story films play in the background.
And if you’ve always thought that the trademark light show of the Gardens, Garden Rhapsody, was already a sight to marvel at, it is going to get even more beautiful- it will take on a Toy Story inspired colour theme, just for this festival.
While Christmas is still six months away, it’s never too early to get into the spirit of giving. Bring your toys down to the event and Salvation Army, TOUCH Community Services (TOUCH Child Care), and Food from the Heart will be there to ensure that your toys bring a smile to the faces of underprivileged children.
At first glance, this event may seem to be most suitable for children under the age of ten, but I’m sure most Toy Story fans such as myself are still going to go join in the festivities. To infinity and beyond!
Dates and Times: 15 June to 30 June 2019, 9am-10pm
