Having shed light onto the untold history of multiple neighbourhoods in their previous art walks, OH! Open House returns for its ninth successive run across three weekends (16 – 17, 23 – 24, 30 – 31 March 2019) this year.
Expanding beyond their signature neighbourhood walks, OH! Open House dives deep into the homes of individuals, together with artists, to weave together an intimate narrative that explores the notions of citizenship, identity, belonging and privilege.
Aptly entitled, PASSPORT, this year’s showcase boasts six unique experiences, taking place in six cribs across the island. Each host will share their own stories and co-erect an art installation, with the artists’ help.
Running the gamut from video and light installations to specially prepared tastings, visitors are prompt to ponder their birthright, the boundaries of a nation, the perils and triumphs of a long distance relationship, and more.
“The programme is about building stories together by putting host and artist in the same space,” says Mr Alan Oei, co-founder and executive director of OH! Open House. “So, it’s a way of engaging with art that is very different from going to a museum or art fair.”
Students and PAssioncard holders get to enjoy 10% off when you purchase the tickets online.
