It’s not until April when Tokyo will be coloured in dreamy pink hues, and everyone in the world would flock over for cherry blossom viewing. But if you haven’t made plans to be there this 2019, there’s one nearer to home to fulfil your hanami longing.
Sakura Matsuri Floral Display is back again this 9 – 31 March 2019 at Gardens by the Bay, bringing us a display of 20 sakura species.
Look out for the Torii gates and a traditional red wooden bridge; while you’re at it, there’s no harm taking a minute to imagine you’re in the Land of the Rising Sun.
Complete the sakura viewing experience at Nippon Street (Flower Field Hall) where you can rent a yukata and munch on Japanese street food, then head over to Ohanami Street (Waterview Room) to slurp on ramen and sip on sake.
Don’t miss out on traditional cultural performances all throughout the Sakura Matsuri Floral Display. You’ll see me at the Japanese Tea Ceremony, learning the Way of Tea and sipping on my green tea.
Dates & Times: 9 – 31 March 2019, 9am – 9pm
Prices: Flower Dome admission
